4 Phrases Even Couples In Successful Relationships Need To Use More

Posted On: February 03, 2025

Dozens of relationship therapists and researchers were recently interviewed on which phrases successful couples say to each other. Most experts agree that couples who thrive consistently express empathy, boundaries, and a desire to find common ground.

There are some phrases, though, that even those in healthy partnerships don’t say. That’s because they are less intuitive or feel more selfish than “I appreciate you” or “Help me understand this.”

Even our most uncomfortable emotions need to be voiced, says Lisa Marie Bobby, psychologist and founder of Growing Self Counseling & Coaching in Denver.  “Clear, respectful communication feels good for everyone,” she says.

Here are four phrases people don’t say enough to their partners.

Working Hard For My Clients: Thank You For The Exceptional Review.

Posted On: January 28, 2025

I just wanted to thank my client Mary Burrier for the exceptional review...

I feel compelled to share the exceptional experience my partner and I had with Concetta G. Spirio, Esq., as it would be a disservice to keep it to ourselves. We were on the lookout for a lawyer proficient in various aspects of drafting a will and other crucial documents when a mutual friend introduced us to Concetta. During our initial meeting, she demonstrated her expertise by asking insightful questions and developing a comprehensive plan tailored to our needs. Her diligence, extensive knowledge, and timely advice provided invaluable guidance, making our experience truly outstanding. The white-glove service she offered ensured a seamless process from start to finish. We are so impressed with her work that she is now our go-to lawyer for any future legal matters. I highly recommend reaching out to her—you won't regret it.
